The Dragon Productions Theatre Company, located less than 15 minutes by car from our hotel, has long been one of Northern California’s top dramatic arts ensembles. Guests of the Park James Hotel will be pleased to learn that The (curious case of the) Watson Intelligence will be on stage from September 14 through October 7. The play, which was a 2014 Pulitzer Prize finalist, examines the role of technology in our lives, its ability to bring us together and tear us apart, by weaving together the narratives of three past Watsons—Sherlock Holmes’s right-hand man, Alexander Graham Bell’s trusty engineer assistant, and IBM’s supercomputer that went head-to-head with Jeopardy! all-stars in 2011—plus one present-day Watson, a 21st-century geek who longs for love.
