FAIRS, FESTIVALS, AND FRIGHTS AT NIGHT

This month, Menlo Park and the surrounding area offers guests a myriad of events and attractions from which to choose, and a few of our favorites are listed here. First, don’t miss Facebook’s Truck Yeah! Fair on October 13 at Facebook headquarters on Hacker Way.

This event will feature Country and Bluegrass bands, line dancing, games, rides, chili and barbecue competitions, and an expo that includes emergency, military, and service vehicles. The proceeds will benefit veterans’ organizations and local health services. Next, get ready to celebrate all things pumpkin on October 13-14 at the 48th Half Moon Bay Art & Pumpkin Festival. The festivities at the world’s pumpkin capital will include a Great Pumpkin Parade, a Haunted Circus, giant pumpkin displays, live music on four stages, food, wines and beers, pumpkin carving, and much more. Lastly, if you’ve never toured the Winchester Mystery House, Halloween is the ideal time to go. Their incredibly popular Halloween Candlelight Tours are one of the best ways to see the haunted mansion of Sarah Winchester, when the only illumination provided is from the guide’s flickering candles. Tours are available now through October 31.
